Abu Dhabi and The Empty Quarter

At Whitsun (Pfingsten) 2010 we had the chance to visit Abu Dhabi and stayed with friends for three days. The city is busy and there are construction sites at every corner. The oil makes it possible.
For me it was the first experience in a real desert and it was impressive, although the sunset could have been more spectacular. The Resort was superb and the travel exhausting due to a defective air condition compressor in the car. No fun at almost 50 ° C (we felt the temperatures in India were rather mild compared to this).
